IRCC will accept new applications starting March 31, 2025, at 10 a.m. ET, until they reach the caps. If the caps are reached, they will reset on March 31, 2026.
Prepare as much as possible before the pilots open, in case the caps are reached quickly.

Program Structure:
The new pilots are categorized into:
- Home Care Worker Immigration Pilot: Child Care
- Home Care Worker Immigration Pilot: Home Support
Application Streams:
Each pilot has two streams:
- Workers in Canada: Set to open on March 31, 2025, at 10 a.m. ET.
- Applicants not working in Canada: This stream will open at a later date.
Eligibility Criteria:
- Job Offer:
- A full-time job offer in Canada as a home child care provider (NOC 44100) or home support worker (NOC 44101) is required.
- Work Experience or Training:
- Applicants must have either:
- Six months of continuous, full-time, and relevant work experience in the past three years, or
- Completed a relevant training credential in the past two years.
- Applicants must have either:
- Language Proficiency:
- A minimum Canadian Language Benchmark (CLB) level 4 in English or French is required for all four language skills: writing, reading, listening, and speaking.
- Education:
- Completion of the equivalent of a Canadian high school diploma or higher.
Application Process:
- Applications must be submitted online through the Permanent Residence (PR) Portal.
- Ensure all required forms and supporting documents are complete and accurate at the time of submission.
Important Considerations:
The Workers in Canada stream is set to open on March 31, 2025, at 10 a.m. ET.
The Applicants not working in Canada stream will open at a later date; applicants should monitor the IRCC website for updates.
Applicants intending to work in Quebec are not eligible under these pilots.
